St. Martin’s 24th Annual Fall Festival has come and gone. Once again it was awesome, 855 dinners were served. It never ceases to amaze us how everyone in this congregation works together and makes things happen. From jar washing, apple coring, ricing, cooking, putting up tents at 6:00 am, baking pies and cakes, frying chicken, waiting tables….. the list goes on and on. The point is this event takes a lot of work, and is done by a lot of people. It is reward in the end to see how things have turned out. Once vision that comes to mind is at the end of the day on Saturday of apple butter week, jars and jars of apple butter are in rows, lunch is ready, and everyone joins hands and stands in a circle. As we say the Lord’s Prayer together you can feel the love pass between us that we share for each other as a church family of friends. This is when you realize the hard work and time you just put in is so worth it. A person can’t have too many moments like this in their life. |
Because of the incredible people we have in our congregation and their generous contributions this Fall Festival was very successful. Our profit was $10,136.43 and we still have $800.00 of Apple Butter to sell. These funds will be distributed as follows:
